An inspired copywriter, visual thinker and ideator, I thrive on challenging work and creative assignments – especially in the fields of art & design, architecture, travel, blockchain technology and sustainability. I have vast communications experience across a variety of media and have worked on concepts and copy for everything from ad campaigns to travel books and films. Concept & Copy
I currently freelance for various advertising and communications agencies in Amsterdam and beyond on diverse assignments — whether that’s work of a highly-bespoke nature for ING; writing fresh original copy for Bugaboo; penning a Facebook campaign for KLM; or writing creative copy for s[edition], who purvey exclusive limited edition digital art by, amongst others, Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, Yoko Ono and Shephard Fairey.
I’m author of National Geographic: Walking Amsterdam (2014) and Rotterdam (1st edition 2008 & 2nd edition 2010). I have been employed as a consultant on travel programmes about Amsterdam for the BBC, MTV, Channel 4 and Lonely Planet. And have contributed extensively to travel publications including those by Time Out and Dorling & Kindersley. I have also written articles for The Globe & Mail, South China Morning Post and, additionally, worked for many years as an arts correspondent for the English edition of Het Financieele Dagblad (in partnership with International Herald Tribune), plus KLM’s award-winning in-flight magazine Holland Herald.
