Concept & Copy | Branding
I currently freelance for various ad agencies and studios in Amsterdam and beyond on diverse assignments — whether that’s work of a highly-bespoke nature for ING; writing fresh original copy for Bugaboo; propelling bloomon on its journey from start-up to scale-up; penning a Facebook campaign for KLM; or writing creative copy for London-based s[edition], who purvey exclusive limited edition digital art by, amongst others, Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, Yoko Ono and Shephard Fairey.

Travel Writing
I’m author of National Geographic: Walking Amsterdam (2014) and Rotterdam (1st edition 2008 & 2nd edition 2010), both written from scratch. I have been employed as a consultant on travel programmes about Amsterdam for the BBC, MTV, Channel 4 and Lonely Planet. And have contributed extensively to travel publications including those by Time Out and Dorling & Kindersley. I worked as arts correspondent for the English edition of Het Financieele Dagblad (in partnership with International Herald Tribune), plus spent 10+ years writing about cultural events and gadgets – including introducing SENZ umbrellas and DOSH wallets – for KLM’s award-winning in-flight magazine Holland Herald. I have also penned articles for The Globe & Mail, South China Morning Post.

Screenwriting
This is where my passion lies. Well one of my passions*. My screenplay, a biopic of Arthur Conan Doyle, is currently being pitched. Producer Nick Bain attached, known for The Man Who Knew Infinity (2015). Another (music) biopic completed July 2019. Now working on a high concept screenplay. Stay tuned…
